Module 4 – LIVINGSTONIA & LAKE MALAWI
Description:.jpg)
The trip to Livingstonia, a missionary post established more than a hundred years ago on the Kondowe Plateau, is an adventurous activity. The biggest part of the trip is on dirt roads with beautiful views and friendly people greeting you. During the rainy season, you might see big trucks full with coals stuck alongside the road.
At Livingstonia, there are lots of interesting places to visit such as the Stone-house built by Dr. Laws, a historic museum, an impressive church, the oldest and youngest (as a new one has just been started) universities of Malawi, a mission hospital and of course the famous Manchewe waterfalls.

Driving down the mountain at the other side will bring you to Lukwe eco-tourism Camp where we will stay for the night and enjoy the beautiful view on Lake Malawi and an excellent meal in the outdoors.
The following morning you continue the way downhill (the escarpment with 18 bends) to find a nice place at the beach where a lunch-picnic will be served. There is a possibility to swim in Lake Malawi and to visit a wood craft market.
On the way back home in the afternoon, a hot spring and an old monkey bridge close to a local tourism site can be visited.
