Nyika Plateau is also a “must-do” location for everybody who visits Malawi.
It is very remote and rough; only two challenging roads lead to this plateau, which is at 2,300 meters above sea level.
After a trip of about 4 hours you will reach Chelinda camp, where you can choose to stay in bedrooms or camping.
Although there are not many different species of animals, you can view the roan antelope, an antelope that is not common in Africa. Other wildlife includes the zebra, eland, bushbuck, reedbuck, jackal en sometimes even the elephant, hyena and leopard. At Fingira rock you can discover old Bushman paintings.
Nyika is famous for the birds and orchids, as well as for the impressive scen
ery that is so different from any of the other wildlife parks in southern and eastern Africa.
Timeframe:
At 09.00 we will start off from the restaurant to reach Nyika in the afternoon, with a packed lunch at the entry gate.
During your stay there are possibilities for drives, hikes, or just relaxing and enjoying the silence you can’t find at home anymore.
The third day: departure is after breakfast, to reach Matunkha in the afternoon.

Costs:
This two-night, three-day safari can be done with camping or a chalet. As there is a new company running the accommodation, prices are not yet fixed.
