Module 10 - NKHONJERA MOUNTAIN

Description:

Mphande, the small village at the foot of this beautiful mountain, has organized this special hike to the top of Nkhonjera mountain, the second highest mountian of Nyika plateau.

Hiking to the top of this mountain will give you such a spectacular view over the Nyika plateau and the Nkamanga plains which can not be described with words.

 

You will leave Matunkha by car to the foot of Nkhonjera Mountain, where a guide and porters are waiting, ready for the start.

The climb up will take about 4 hours, depending of fitness. Slowly the vegetation is changing, less people and more wild animals and birds can been spotted.

On the top, lunch will be prepared with a small fire and water from one of the many streams. The afternoon can be used to explore the top and spot animals such as monkeys, porcupines and small antelopes.

Spending a night in the bush with a campfire and the sounds of nature around you is a very special experience.
After a good breakfast you will hike down to the village from where you will be brought back to Matunkha by car.

 

 

Timeframe:

You will leave Matunkha early morning after breakfast and you will return the following day, end afternoon.

This one-night, two-day safari costs as follows:

For 2 persons: € 65 per person

For 3 persons: € 55 per person

For 4 persons: € 45 per person

For 5 persons: € 45 per person
